The Task Group objective is the development of a Recommended Practice for Equipment Rated Greater than 15,000 psi Working Pressure. The standard may include recommendations for the performance, design verification, materials, manufacturing, and recertification issues for pressure containing equipment rated for working pressures greater than 15,000 psi for use in the petroleum and natural gas industries. This new standard is not intended to replace existing API equipment specifications (such as Specs 6A, 16A, 16C, and 17D), but to supplement the design analysis methods used with additional techniques such as those in ASME B&PV Code, Section VIII, Division 3.
